Yee hahhh... the noise has gone!

It was the crankshaft pulley..! Was a mission to do.. took a few hours.. but finally sorted. Cost £285 in the end for the part.

Whilst we sorted it we adjusted the exhaust so it would catch on the floorpan... happy days!

I'm guna buy the crankshaft pulley seperatley from bmw and then get my old man to fit it.. still costing £250...

If this don't sort it then i'm stuck?

Right.. went though my paperwork and noticed that it went to sytner back in 2004 for a similar engine noise and they replaced the alternator belt tensioner/pulley/seal/bolt/nut.. so went to BMW round the corner from work and got a quote for similar work.. £400!! Ouch...

Hmmm....?

Windscreen got clobbered by a big stone.. had it replaced (with the rain sensor) for £80...!
